About the forum

The five main objectives of the project were:
  1. To develop synergies between the key action on the ageing population and the national and international research programmes in the field.
  2. To improve channels of communication from the key action into the national research communities and vice versa.
  3. To promote broader European cooperation and networking in the field of ageing research.
  4. To stimulate interdisciplinary research.
  5. To promote better public awareness of the importance of scientific research on ageing.
The project was managed by a Steering committee made up of fourteen experts drawn from academic institutes around Europe. The Project director was Professor Alan Walker, based in Sheffield University (UK) where the administrative team was also located.

A Project Timeline showing the various stages and outputs of the project includes links to archival project information such as workshop agendas and photos but also provides additional links, in time-sequence, to all the primary deliverables produced in the course of the project.

Over the course of the project a total of six scientific workshops were held. Web pages showing the agendas, reports and photos of the events are available here.

Three Newsletters produced to report on achievements and progress. In addition two annual reports were produced and submitted to the EC to report on the progress of the project.
